Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 berdampak buruk pada aktivitas perdagangan secara langsung terutama di pasar tradisional yang berada di area episentrum termasuk Surabaya. Pasar Karah memerlukan inovasi dan kreativitas sehingga transaksi perdagangan dapat berlangsung dan tetap memprioritaskan kesehatan, yakni pasar virtual dengan optimalisasi grup Whatsapp.  Oleh karena itu, Prodi Ilmu Komunikasi menyelenggarakan sosialisasi pasar virtual, menyusun standar operasional pasar virtual, menetapkan bersama harga dan biaya pengiriman, melatih pedagang memfoto dan mengemas produk, dan melatih pengelolaan serta evaluasi pasar virtual. Kegiatan ini berkontribusi positif terhadap pemberdayaan ekonomi pedagang Pasar Karah.
